Welcome to Phokiron! We are Philip and Kiki, a husband-and-wife team with a shared obsession for making things by hand. Our shop was born out of a simple idea: that the items you use every day—from the shirt on your back to the pillow on your sofa—should be both fun to look at and built to last.
Philip brings the grit and precision of woodworking, while Kiki focuses on custom-designed textiles and creative apparel. Together, we blend our styles to create high-quality pieces for your home and your wardrobe. Phokiron's hand-made wood products often provide a variety of high-quality finishing options: Boiled Linseed Oil, Tung Oil and petrification. Options may vary for specific items. Tung oil is 100% natural and food-contact safe making it ideal for gardening and food-related items. BLO is mostly natural but does use some synthetic thinners to help the natural Linseed Oil penetrate further into the wood. Our flagship finish, petrification, is a natural wood treatment that adds approximately 70% to the strength of the wood, adds fire resistance, and may be combined with other finishes. Petrification DOES NOT make the wood fire-proof.

What is Omni-Armor?
Omni-Armor is our unique way of greatly improving the durability of wood by using a proprietary blend of food-contact safe ingredients: Tung Oil, Sodium Silicate, and Orange Oil. Omni-Plating essentially petrifies the wood making is 70% stronger, greatly resistant to heat, rot, insects, moisture, physical impact, wear and tear. This does not make it fire-proof or impervious to natural elements, but the benefits are substantial.
This is silly, but we must insist that customers do not eat or consume our Omni-Armor products, parts of these products, or any dust produced from sanding our products.
Are Omni-Armor Products Food Safe?
Ingredients used to produce Omni-Armor wood are food safe or GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe). Like wood, Omni-Armor product, parts, pieces, dust, char, etc. are not intended for human consumption. If ingested then contact your local poison control center, or seek medical attention right away. These products are safe for food contact. Omni-Armor treatment ingredients are 100% Pure Tung oil, Sodium Silicate, and Citric Acid.
How do wood finishes differ?
Phokiron typically offers 3 different wood finishes. Raw (unfinished), BLO (Boiled Linseed Oil), 100% Pure Tung Oil, and Omni-Armor. All finishes will darken the natural color of the wood and make the grain "pop". Below is a single piece of wood partially coated with all 3 finishes.
Left: Omini-Armor reinforces the wood fiber on a chemical level, providing a penetrating layer of petrification. The strength of the wood increases by about 70%, it becomes extremely rot, heat, moisture, and pest resistant. It also be very fire resistant, but NOT FIRE PROFF. This treatment makes the wood considerably darker and give it a smooth stone-like texture. This finish is permanent and never needs to be reapplied.
Middle: 100% Pure Tung Oil provides a penetrating protective coating that improves moisture, rot, pest, and heat resistance. This finish noticeably darkens the wood by adding an amber hue. This finish needs to be reapplied every 3-5 years, depending on the level of wear and is more robust than BLO.
Right: BLO provides limited protection when compared to 100% Pure Tung Oil, and needs to be reapplied more frequently and is not as robust.
What is the return policy?
Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right. Items may be returned within 30 days for a full refund if the item is in new condition, at the owners expense. Items damaged during shipping will be claimed by the insurance for the shipping carrier and handled on a case-by-case basis.
Are any purchases final sale?
All purchases are final once shipped unless an exception is made on a case-by-case basis. Please message or email us if there is an issue with your order. Orders may be cancelled before shipment.
When will I get my order?
We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. All wooden and crafted items are built-to-order and hand made. We do not mass produce any of our offerings. We generally complete builds within 3-7 business days and ship as soon as the build is complete. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.
